September 13 is designated an International Day of Action against the WTO, in conjunction with the WTO ministerial meeting in Cancun, Mexico, Sept. 10-14. If you want to add your voice , the Indiana Fair Trade Coalition is convening a solidarity action on the South side of the IN State House from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Saturday, September 13. In solidarity with millions around the world protesting the "Business, as Usual" trade agenda led by the Bush administration, and their corporate sponsors, and over 100,000 expected to march in Cancun, we'll say NO! to the WTO. We'll also be kicking off the local mobilization for the "March to Miami", the drive to bring the spirit of Seattle to Miami for the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA) ministerial meeting in November.
Join us as we demand an end to worker exploitation, natural resource depletion and ecological destruction, and "free market" commodification of health care, water, and other necessities of life.
Corporate-directed globalization is generating hostility and resentment toward the U.S., and hardship and strife throughout the developing world. A better world is possible, if we work together to put people and their needs before corporate profit!
Please e-mail me if you can come, so we can have an idea of turn out. Thanks for all your work on behalf of a better world!
