Another World is Possible Festival
Saturday September 13, Troy Riverfront Park, 1 to 4:30
Say No to WTO
A free festival of music and activism will take place on Saturday September 13 at Troy Riverfront Park (behind Troy City Hall) from 1 PM to 4:3o PM.
Among the performers at the event will be Terry Roben, Solidarity Singers, Bridget Ball, Big Johnson Blues Band, and Magic Recording Eye, along with poet Victorio Reyes.
There will also be speakers on a variety of environmental, community, and global democracy issues between performers. The event is being held in conjunction with the worldwide day of action in response to the World Trade Organization meeting taking place in Cancun Mexico. Speakers include Prof. Stanley Aronowitz, former Green Party candidate for Governor; Prof. Janet Britt; labor activists Doug Bullock and Joe Lombardo; Mark Schaeffer; and Mark Dunlea.
Groups participating include the Rensselaer Greens; Campus Action; Peace Action; Bethlehem Neighbors for Peace; Albany and Capital District Greens; Ecologic and Economic Values Program at RPI; and Troy Bike Rescue. These groups and others will have informational tables at the event.
Rain location is West Hall at RPI.
