Since the mandatory need to coordinate actions and struggles towards the mobilizations against the fifth ministerial reunion of the World Trade Organization which will take place in this upcoming month of September in the city of Cancun, Mexico, some student and youth organizations have decided to impel all efforts to generate articulation between groups and individuals in our sector: students and youth.

We, are organizations calling to participate and support a minimum action plan, with the purpose to add anyone who is interested in mobilizing against the WTO. This call can't be the only one, and it doesn't tries to represent all of our sector. It's only a wide call to Mexican and international students and youth organizations to participate and coordinate actions in the struggle against the WTO.

This call is an attempt to generate a strategy to let students, and all youth in general, to:

a) Strengthen the mobilization and presence of youth and students against the WTO, to impel an organized presence of this actors in the city of Cancun.

b) Generate organized actions from this sector, as part of the actions and events that already numerous national and international organizations are preparing towards September.

c) Generate communication, articulation and bonds between all the local and national spaces towards global mobilization.

This call is made to support, coordinate and strengthen the next minimum actions:

1.-*NATIONAL YOUTH AND STUDENTS CARAVAN* *TO CANCUN*, which will start from Mexico City, gathering with other regional and state organizations. The caravan will do political acts thru its way to Cancun in the cities of Puebla, Veracruz, Villahermosa and Merida. The objectives of the caravan are:

a)To create a viable and wide form to make it possible for youngsters and students to go to the mobilizations against the WTO.

b)To generate regional spaces of public information in the cities were the caravan will go and have a public following.

c) To have a favorable minimum coordination between the regional and national spaces that are impelling different kinds of work towards the mobilizations in Cancun.

As we all know, the city of Cancun is very far from all the regions, zones and cities with a fighting and a resistance tradition. Building the conditions for numerous people from different states to be able to go to Cancun and to be organized is a priority. Mexico City, the biggest mobilization place in the country, is 24 hrs. apart from Cancun. The transportation for youth and students has an enormous cost.

To be able to get thru this initiative, we call all the mexican youth and student spaces in Mexico City, to coordinate themselves around this initiative, not mattering the ideological, political and strategic differences to allow the biggest possible assistance.

We propose to the South and South-east organizations of the country, to embrace this initiative, strengthen it and to impulse all the work needed to carry out the political acts in all the cities the caravan is going to, and to double the efforts to attend the mobilizations in Cancun.

We invite all the North organizations in our country to get coordinated with us so we can meet in Mexico City and go together to Cancun.

We make *AN URGENT CALL* for solidarity and support to all the networks, fronts and spaces in the world to help finance this initiative, allowing the biggest number possible of Mexicans to go to the meeting of the WTO. To favor any kind of financial support -donations, financing, contributions, or any other type of help- to fortify this caravan.

*2.- YOUTH AND STUDENTS GLOBAL MEETTING *- friday, september 12-. We call to all whom is interested, to impulse a planetary reunion denominated *Zapatismo and Resistance, (Zapatism and Resistance) *to articulate with us, and promote together initiatives for the defense of the Indian rights, in solidarity with all the Indian communities in resistance, and to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the zapatista upraisal. We invite all who work around the zapatist movement and those who do not but are interested in doing so to gather with us and thus, impulse and strengthen the resistance network.

*3.- MASSIVE FESTIVAL* against war and neoliberalism

In the like of other protests and global mobilizations, we think it is necessary to generate spaces for reunions, parties, dance and culture that will let us gather not only those who would go to the mobilizations, but all the people (local and regional) in general to make visible to others the objectives of our presence and _hate_ to the WTO.

As a part of the main actions, the organizations that make this call have decided to impulse a rock festival on September 12, previous to the main global mobilization on September 13. Past experiences in organizing this type of events let us gain full responsibility of this concert, event that has been scheduled and concerted with other social and political forces.

*4.-ACTIVITIES IN THE CANCUN STREETS*

With the recovery of public spaces (territorial or ideological) we will create a new way of politics under the idea of "walk by asking". This news spaces are important in the creation of theory and practice in the active construction of a new world and the deconfiguration of the money empire. We propose the occupation of the Cancun streets with new ideas, actions, culture and resistance acts, protesting against the privatization of different services, in order to express that life and future are created by everyone, not just a few.

*5.- CONVERGENCE OF NEW TECHNOLOGIES AND ALTERNATIVE MEDIA*

We call everyone: youth, students, civil communicators, to participate in the shared inniciative of getting together from September 1 to 7, in the city of Cancun, in order to strengthen the role of the social and civil organizations in the media (press, radio, television) with the intention of having massive communication and objetive information and analyses of the parallel activities done before, during and after the OMC Conference*.*

AIRE (Informative Action in Resistance) was born as an integral initiative for the diffusion of information and communication born from the protest in favor of an alternative globalization. *Jóvenes en Resistencia Alternativa:* (Youth in Alternative Resistance) we are an organization from the Mexican society, composed, mainly, by youngsters and students. We seek the organized participation of youth in local, national and global fights, for freedom, equality, justice, peace, the respect of all cultures and the dignification of human beings, against exploitation, exclusion and domination. We are a radical Left wing and peaceful action organization that is not in search of the traditional way of political power. JRA is was recently created from the union of several experiences of student, neighborhood, political and cultural works. A partir de la necesidad de la coordinación de acciones y esfuerzos rumbo a las movilizaciones frente a la quinta reunión ministerial de la Organización Mundial de Comercio, a realizarse en la septiembre en la ciudad de Cancún, México, algunas organizaciones de universitarios, estudiantes y jóvenes hemos decidido impulsar todos los esfuerzos necesarios para generar articulación y suma de esfuerzos en nuestro sector: los jóvenes y estudiantes.

Nosotros, somos espacios que hacemos un llamado a participar y apoyar un plan de acción mínimo que sume a los ma's posibles hacia las movilizaciones contra la OMC. Este llamado puede no ser el único y no intenta representar a nuestro sector. Es un llamado amplio a las organizaciones estudiantiles mexicanas y globales a participar en un esfuerzo de acción, coordinación y lucha frente a la OMC.

Este llamado, es un intento por generar una estrategia de jóvenes y estudiantes que permita:

a) Fortalecer la movilización y la presencia de jóvenes y estudiantes contra la OMC, impulsando la presencia organizada de los mismos en la ciudad de Cancún.

b) Generar acciones organizadas desde el sector, como parte de las acciones y eventos que ya numerosas organizaciones nacionales e internacionales preparan hacia septiembre.

c) Generar comunicación, vinculación y articulación entre los espacios estudiantiles y de jóvenes a nivel local y regional alrededor de la movilización global.

El llamado es a sumarse, apoyar, fortalecer o coordinarse con las siguientes acciones mínimas:

*CARAVANA NACIONAL de jóvenes y estudiantes hacia Cancún*. Que partirá de la ciudad de México, convergiendo con otras fuerzas y organizaciones regionales y estatales a lo largo de su trayecto. La CARAVANA realizará mítines y actos políticos por su paso en las ciudades de Puebla, Veracruz, Villahermosa y Mérida. Los objetivos de la caravana son:

a) Hacer viable la asistencia de jóvenes y estudiantes de forma amplia hacia las movilizaciones contra la OMC.

b) Generar agitación e información regional en las ciudades por donde pase la Caravana y presencia y cobertura pública.

c) Propiciar coordinación mínima entre los espacios nacionales, estatales y regionales que impulsan trabajos frente a las movilizaciones en Cancún.

Como sabemos, la ciudad de Cancún se encuentra alejada de las zonas, regiones y ciudades con tradición de lucha y resistencia. Es prioritario construir las condiciones para que numerosos compañeros de dichas entidades puedan organizarse y trasladarse a la ciudad de Cancún. El mayor epicentro de movilización del país,. La ciudad de México, se encuentra a 24 horas de distancia de la Ciudad de Cancún. Los costos de traslado para los jóvenes y estudiantes son enormes.

Para construir esta iniciativa, llamamos a todos los espacios mexicanos de jóvenes y estudiantes de la Ciudad de México, a coordinarse con esta iniciativa sin importar diferencias ideológicas, políticas y estratégicas para permitir la mayor asistencia de compañeros y compañeras.

Les proponemos a las organizaciones del Sur y Sureste del país, hacer suya esta ésta iniciativa, fortaleciéndola impulsando los trabajos para realizar los actos políticos en las ciudades del trayecto de la caravana, y a redoblar los esfuerzos para asistir a las movilizaciones.

Invitamos a las organizaciones del norte del país a coordinarnos para reunirnos en la Ciudad de México y partir de manera conjunta hacia la ciudad de Cancún.

Hacemos un LLAMADO URGENTE de solidaridad y apoyo a las organizaciones, redes, frentes y espacios del mundo para apoyar financieramente esta iniciativa, permitiendo que el mayor número de mexicanos pueda trasladarse a la sede de la reunión de la OMC. A impulsar colectas, fiestas, rifas, conciertos, donaciones, financiamientos o cualquier otra forma de apoyo económico que fortalezca esta caravana.

Agradeceremos también a las organizaciones y espacios de todo el planeta que reciban este llamado a circularlo y difundirlo entre sus redes, contactos y organizaciones cercanas.

*REUNION GLOBAL de jóvenes y estudiantes a realizarse el viernes 12 de septiembre*. Convocamos a todas y todos los interesados en impulsar una reunión planetaria denominada *Zapatismo y Resistencia*, con el objetivo de encontrarnos, articularnos, y, en su caso impulsar iniciativas conjuntas en defensa de los derechos de los pueblos indios, en solidaridad con las comunidades indígenas en resistencia y en perspectiva de los 10 años del levantamiento del EZLN. Invitamos a todos los espacios que impulsen trabajos alrededor del zapatismo, o bien que estén interesados en hacerlo a reunirnos e impulsar y fortalecer redes de resistencias.

*FESTIVAL MASIVO contra la guerra y el neoliberalismo*.

Como en otras protestas y movilizaciones globales, nos parece primordial genera espacios de reunión, fiesta, denuncia, baile y cultura que puedan aglutinar no sólo a los asistentes de las movilizaciones sino a la población en general local y regional que haga visible por otros medios los objetivos de nuestra presencia y repudio a la OMC.

Como parte de las acciones centrales, los espacios que hacemos este llamado, hemos decidido impulsar un festival de rock el 12 de septiembre, previo a la movilización central y global del 13 de septiembre. Anteriores experiencias de organización de este tipo de eventos nos permite hacernos responsables de dicha iniciativa cuya coordinación con el resto de las fuerzas sociales y políticas a las movilizaciones ya está en marcha.

Sin embargo, este esfuerzo necesita de todo el apoyo posible para asegurar su viabilidad financiera. Hacemos nuevamente un LLAMADO a fortalecer económicamente esta iniciativa.

*ACTIVIDADES EN LAS CALLES DE CANCU'N***

mediante la reapropiación de espacios públicos (territoriales ó de ideas) podamos ejercer nuevas formas de hacer política con la consigna de caminar preguntando. un espacio que nos parece importante para la producción de teoría y práctica en la conformación del nuevo mundo y la desconfiguración del imperio del dinero. proponemos que el 12 de septiembre ocupemos los espacios públicos de la ciudad de Cancún con ideas, acciones, cultura, y resistencia, desobedeciendo los acuerdos de servicios que en esta reunión de la OMC serán privatizados, dejando claro que la vida y el futuro lo creamos todos.**
