Further to Urgent Action dated 1st August 2002 on the kidnapping of oil
worker and USO member GONZALO RAMÍREZ TRIANA:

a) Further Development
----------------------
At 10pm on 31st July, in Sabana de Torres USO comrade ALONSO PAMPLONA
was shot at by a group of heavily armed men. He received 5 bullets, and
was left abandoned at Km 15 on the highway where he was found by a
police patrol, and later taken to the Ardila Lulle Clinic. He was
operated on and fortunately the comrade is now out of danger, medically
at least.

El pasado día 31 de julio a las 10 p.m. se produjo en Sabana de Torres
contra el compañero ALONSO PAMPLONA, por parte de un grupo fuertemente
armado quienes le propinaron 5 impactos de bala, dejándolo abandonado en
el Km. 15 donde fue recogido por una patrulla de la policía y
posteriormente trasladado a la Clínica Ardila Lulle donde lo
intervinieron quirúrgicamente, por fortuna el compañero está fuera de
peligro, según el parte médico.
