the CONFEUNASSC-CNC
is a farmers movement from Ecuador who played an important role in the 
uprising in January this year which involved many different social movements. 
They are currently also PGA convenors together with 3 other organisations in 
Latin America.

A climate of confrontation is growing these months in Ecuador, a country 
dramaticaly affected by many years of neoliberal policies. They recently 
made several actions, including the occupation of the Vaticans embassy and 
just a few days ago a 48 hours blocking of several roads which pushed the 
government to withdraw a new law proposal concerning the social security 
which would have been inhuman. 

They are informed about Prague and the S26 global day of action. As their 
mobilisations are not so punctual as in the US or Europe, this is what they 
wrote :

" The political situation in the country is making us predict that in August 
and September there will be a high level of social confrontation, which 
happens to be in the time of the S26 global day of action. With all the 
political and social accumulation coming out of these days, the actions in 
Ecuador will have political impacts before, during and after Prague. For 
obvious reasons we cannot say what our strategy is, but stayed tuned ! "

Disculpas por la demora, estamos concluyendo una serie de acciones en
contra de la ofensiva neoliberal que se esta dando en nuestro País,
Concluimos hoy 26 de julio con un bloqueo de carreteras de 48 horas,
esta acción de caracter preventivo, tubo como resultados la suspención
del tratamiento a la Ley de Seguridad Social. Situación que nos da un
respiro por un corto tiempo.

La situación política en el País, nos hace preveer que los meses de
Agosto y septiembre, sea de alta conflictividad social, por lo que
dentro de la Agenda de nuestras organizaciones, consta el 26 como día de
acción global contra el Neoliberalismo. con todo el acumulado político y
social  resultante de estas jornadas, las acciones en el país van ha
tener impactos politicos antes durante y despues de lo de Praga.por
razones ovias no te podemos decir en que consiste nuestra campaña, pero
mantente en contacto.
