Wolfenson in Kiev
Yesterday (6th of October) World Bank president
Wolfenson who visits Ukraine during these some days
delivered a lecture for students of Kyiv-Mohyla
Academy, one of the most popular and prestigious
Ukrainian universities. Tigra nigra (initiative group
which organized actions against IMF/WB in support of
Prague on 25th and 26th of September) decided it would
be unfair not to share the information we've got about
WB and IMF with the youth that wanted to attend this
lecture. So 5 of us came there and stood in front of
the building where Mr. Wolfenson had to push his
thoughts. The idea was to be put on something like
brand-new suits and to give students who went there
pretty and rather formal looking envelops which
contained leaflets we made for 26th September and post
card (smart photo from Prague street battle with
slogans and emblem). Students took our envelopes with
interest and sometimes respect, perhaps caused by our
suits. We were considered to look like people from the
press-service of Mr. Wolfenson. One guy, when finally
realized the real content of envelopes, said to his
friend: "Great, finally! I thought that there has to
be something like this!"
The harmonious combination of our outfit and the
content on the information we spread made the day
nicer :-)
In solidarity,
