Greetings.
According to our previous declaration , yesterday 21 th April was the Protest Day.
As a part of the protest day,There was a Protest Demonstration in the capital city-Dhaka.Presided by Mr.Alam Kabir - acting president of NGWF, the gathering was addressed among others Amirul Haque Amin - General Secretary,Mrs.Shahida Sarker,Mrs.Nahar,Mrs.Razia Begum,Mrs.Arifa,Mrs.Nurun Nahar,Md.Mujibur Rahman Pintu and Advocate Abed Raja Advisor of NGWF.
After the gathering there was a PROTEST CILENT PROCESSION with BlACK FlAG and BlACK MASK.The procession parred the main streets of the city.
The speakers said that - Weekly Holiday is the legal right of the garments workers according to the country,s Labour Law,I.L.O. conventions,Universal human rights declarations and the constitution of Bangladesh. But garments workers are deprived from this by the garments owners.Garments workers are working 14 hours per day and 7 days per week.For this long time and unrest work , Garments workers are faching terrific problems physicaly,mentaly,socialy and in the family.
They demand to the garments owners,BGMEA and government for the imediate implementation of the Weekly Holiday in the garments sector.
