GARMENTS WORKERS PROTEST RALLY IN THE CAPITAL CITY DHAKA AGAINST THE FALSE CASES

Garmens Workers brought out a protest Rally on 28 th July,2000 against the false cases against the National Garments Workers leaders.The rally was organized by theNational Garments Workers Federation. Before the rally there was a short gathering .Presided by Alam Kabir the gathering addressed among others Amirul Haque Amin, Mrs Shahida Sarker, Advocate Abed Raja, Mrs Razia Begum, Mojibur Rahman Pintu, Mrs Lovely Biswas,Ohiduzzaman, Mrs Arifa Akter and Mrs Nurun Nahar.
The Rally was start from Muktangaon and it was finished in the purana Paltan after Parred the main streets of the city.
The speakers said That - In suport of Garments owners a vested corner have filed false cases against the federation leaders. There main atitude to stop the garments workers movement, stop the National garments workers federation and to discaurage the garments workers to join in the federation. This vested people have filed 12 cases against the leaders including the general secretary of NGWF.
The speakers demanded withdrowal of the false cases . They also demanded implementation of weekly holiday and M.O.U that was signed by the B.G.M.E.A on 1997.
