Medya TV starts broadcasting

London (KM) - Kurdish Medya TV test broadcating was watched in London.

The test broadcasting of Kurdish Medya TV was watched in London starting at 18:50 British local time today. Medya TV can be watched from frequency 10850, Pol. switch Horizental, Satellite EUTELS 16 E.

Medya TV will start its normal broadcasting from tomorrow July 31 for 12 hours a day. Medya TV is based in Paris, the cultural capital of Europe. Unlike its predecessor Med-TV and the present CTV, it is not controlled by the British International Television Commission (ITC) which closed down Med-TV.

Kurdish observers believe that the reappearnce of Med-TV as Medya TV has a significant impact on Kurds. Med-TV station was closed down by the pressure of Turkish government on British government. "The closure of Med-TV, a short while after the kidnapping of Ocalan was considered as a victory by Turks, but now the Kurds feel the taste of victory over Turkey and its allies." they further add.

"Kurdistan 1, Turkey 0!" chanted a Kurdish viewer of Medya TV.
