Salzburg: Aktionstage gegen das World Economic Forum

Die antiwef-koordination ist ein loses Netzwerk von
Einzelpersonen, autonomen Gruppen und Kollektiven, die
sich zusammengeschlossen haben um gemeinsam gegen das
World Economic Forum (WEF) in Salzburg zu mobilisieren und Widerstand
zu demonstrieren.

Auch aufgrund der anhaltenden Repressionen, die sich gegen
AktivistInnen des Vorjahres richten, ist die
Notwendigkeit von Protesten ungebrochen aktuell. Derzeit laufen über
113 Anzeigen gegen mutmaßliche TeilnehmerInnen der behördlich verbotenen
Demonstration vom 1. Juli 2001.
Neben Freisprüchen gab es schon mehrere Verurteilungen zu Geldstrafen.

Die antiwef-koordination sieht keinen Sinn im Versuch eines Dialoges mit dem WEF, weil es jeglicher Legitimität entbehrt. Es ist eine Elite, die
sich anmaßt über die Köpfe der betroffenen Menschen hinweg
Entscheidungen zu treffen, wobei Auswirkungen
auf z.B sozialer und ökologischer Ebene ignoriert werden.
Das WEF wurde durch die Stärke der globalen Protestbewegung gezwungen,
den Dialog mit Organisationen, Gruppen und Einzelpersonen zu suchen.
Zugeständnisse an NGOs dienen einerseits einer Imagepolitur, andererseits der
Einverleibung dieser Gruppen.

Aufgrund des emanzipatorischen Ansatzes der antiwef-koordination
stellt sich die Frage nach der Reformierbarkeit des WEF nicht, denn die
Organisation allleine ist nicht das eigentliche Problem.
Die generelle Profitorientierung richtet sich
nicht nach den Bedürfnissen von Menschen, Umwelt und
Tieren, sondern funktioniert in der Durchdringung aller Lebensbereiche. Die
fortwährende Integration von Alternativen scheint die Vorstellung eines Lebens ohne
Profitdenken unmöglich zu machen.

Um gegen das WEF und seine Einbettung in komplexen Machtverhältnissen zu
protestieren, bereitet die antiwef-koordination in der Zeit von 12. - 19.September 2002
Aktionstage vor.
Dabei soll eine inaltliche Beschäftigung mit der eigenen Rolle in den gegebenen
Zusammenhängen im Vordergrund stehen.
Bei den Aktionstagen sollen verschiedene Aspekte thematisiert werden wie Gender,
Migration und Repräsentationssysteme und einer vielseitigen Auseinandersetzung
Raum gegeben werden.

Die antiwef-koordination wird in unregelmäßigen Abständen Presseaussendungen
ausschicken. Weiters gibt es auf der homepage Infos zu den Gegenaktivitäten
anlässlich des WEF in Salzburg.

The antiwef-coordination is a loose network of
individuals, autonomous groups and collectives that
teamed up to mobilize together against the WEF in
Salzburg and to show resistance.

Also because of the sustained repression directed
against activists of the previous action days the
necessity of protests is still current.
At present more than 113 reports run towards presumed
participants in the officially prohibited
demonstration on 1st july 2001.
Apart from acquittals several fines have been imposed.

The antiwef-coordination makes out no use in trying to
carry on a dialogue with the WEF because its complete
lacking of legitimacy. The WEF is an elite that usurps
to make decisions over the heads of the affected
people. In doing so effects on e.g. social and
ecological level are ignored.
Due to the intensity of the global protest movement
the WEF was forced to carry on a dialogue with
organisations, groups and individuals.
Concessions to NGO's on the one hand serve to
polishing the image and on the other to annexing these
groups.

On the basis of the emancipatory approach of the
antiwef-coordination the question of reformating the
WEF does not arise since the WEF as an organisation is
not the basic problem.
Profitorientation in general does not comply with the
needs of humans, environment and animals but it
functions by penetrating all spheres of life.
The continuous integration of alternatives seems to
make the idea of a life avoiding the strive for
profit impossible.

To protest against the WEF and its embeding inside
complex proportions of power the antiwef coordination
prepares days of action during the time from 12.-19.
september 2002.
On the occasion the occupation with the personal role
within the given context shall be given special
emphasis.
During the days of action different aspects such as
gender, migration and systems of representation are to
be a topic and there will be room to a versatile
dealing with.

releases in irregular intervals. Furthermore there are

concerning the counteractivities on the occasion of
the WEF summit in Salzburg.
