Ein Herz für die Kripo
Liebe Berlinerinnen, liebe Berliner, die Kriminalpolizei bittet um Ihre
Mithilfe: Es werden dringend Beschuldigte gesucht. Erforderliche Merkmale: 20
bis 30 Jahre alt, deutsche Staatsbürgerschaft, Wohnsitz in Berlin. Das genügt
schon. Um alles andere kümmert sich die zuständige Abteilung 5.3 des
Staatsschutzes. Denn sie fahndet mit Nachdruck nach Personen, die sich im Juni
2001 an den Ausschreitungen im schwedischen Göteborg beteiligt haben könnten.
Bei Protesten gegen den EU-Gipfel kam es damals zu Krawallen.
Die Beschuldigten müssen übrigens nicht einmal etwas mit der
globalisierungskritischen Bewegung zu tun haben. Gerne können sie auch über ein
Alibi für den entsprechenden Zeitraum verfügen. Die Kriminalpolizei freut sich
trotzdem über jeden Namen. Falls Sie sich nicht sicher sind, wer angesprochen
ist, hier ein Beispiel: Der junge Berliner Sebastian H. (Name geändert) ist
weder vorbestraft, noch hat er etwas mit der Antiglobalisierungsbewegung zu tun.
Als die Krawalle in Göteborg stattfanden, war der damalige Gymnasiast brav in
der Schule, um den Termin für seine mündliche Abiturprüfung zu erfahren. Egal,
denn Alter, Staatsangehörigkeit und Wohnsitz entsprechen den oben angeführten
Kriterien. Also wurde Sebastian H. Anfang November ganz unkonventionell geweckt.
»Aufwachen! Polizei!«, hieß es morgens um halb sieben. Mit gezogener Waffe stand
ein Beamter der Kripo neben seinem Bett. Die Wohnungstür hatte die von einer
halben Hundertschaft der Bereitschaftspolizei unterstützt Kripo-Einheit zuvor
aufgetreten. Bei dem Großeinsatz sollten Kleidungsstücke gefunden werden, die
Sebastian H. in Göteborg getragen haben könnte, wäre er jemals dort gewesen: ein
helles Basecap, eine helle Jacke, Handschuhe, karierte Schuhe und eine dunkle
Hose. Die fleißigen Kriminalbeamten hatten Erfolg; eine dunkle Jeans wurde
beschlagnahmt. Mehr relevante Kleidungsstücke fanden die Beamten nicht. Dafür
nahmen sie Sebastian H. seinen Computer weg, wie auch persönliche
Aufzeichnungen, Videos, Musik-CDs und sein Handy.
»Als einzigen Beweis hat die Polizei Videoaufnahmen von der schwedischen
Polizei, wo sie mich zweifelsfrei erkennen wollen«, sagt Sebastian H. Dabei habe
er »noch nie an solchen Protesten teilgenommen«. Und er kann es sogar beweisen:
Zeugen bestätigen, er sei am fraglichen Tag, dem 15. Juni 2001, in der Schule
gewesen. Dazu gibt es ein Schreiben seiner damaligen Schule. Außerdem hat
Sebastian H. am vermeintlichen Tag der Tat Geld von seinem Konto abgehoben – in
Berlin.
Doch Fakten sind nicht so wichtig. Wichtig ist, dass die eigens zur Verfolgung
von Globalisierungskritikern gegründete Abteilung 5.3. der Kripo endlich ein
paar Beschuldigte aufweisen kann. So lief es auch im Fall der 28jährigen Sabine
M. (Name geändert). Ebenfalls beschuldigt, in Göteborg randaliert zu haben,
wurde sie Mitte vergangener Woche von einem Berliner Gericht freigesprochen.
Sogar die Staatsanwaltschaft sah in den »Indizien« der Kripo keinerlei Beweise
gegen Sabine M. Die Kriminalpolizei bittet daher um Ihre Mithilfe: Wer
beschuldigt werden möchte, melde sich bitte bei der Abteilung 5.3. unter

Die 6 politischen Gefangenen der Proteste gegen den EU-Gipfel - 4 davon
inzwischen im Hochsicherheitstrakt in Athen und z.T.seit 50 Tagen im
Hungerstreik - müssen i RAUS ! Die Proteste in der BRD sind noch vergelichsweise
zu " dezent " Protestmails an die griechische Botschaft wären prima
SOLIDARITÄT IST EINE WAFFE

Zwischen dem 19. Und 21. Juni 2003 fand in der Nähe von Thessaloniki,
Griechenland, der EU-Gipfel unter griechischer Ratspräsidentschaft statt. In den
Gesprächen wurden u.a. der Entwurf für eine europäische Verfassung, der Aufbau
einer gemeinsamen Armee, die weitere Verschärfung der Migrationskontrolle, sowie
die Aufnahme weiterer Staaten diskutiert. Dagegen protestierten zeitgleich
zehntausende Menschen in den Straßen Thessalonikis und versuchten den
reibungslosen Ablauf des Treffens zu behindern. Ähnlich wie bei den vorherigen
Gipfeln war die Antwort des Staates Polizeibrutalität gegenüber den
DemonstrantInnen. Mehr als 100 Personen wurden verhaftet, viele in den Knästen
geschlagen und mißhandelt.

Inmitten einer von den Medien ausgelösten Hysterie über die “Randalierer” vom
21. Juni (während zeitgleich der Mord an 250 Einwanderern, die vor den Augen der
italienischen Kriegsmarine ertranken, totschwiegen wurde) wurden 27 verhaftete
DemonstrantInnen angeklagt, Straftaten begangen zu haben. 7 von ihnen ( Fernando
Perez, Carlos Martinez Martin (Spanien), Simon Chapman (England), Suleyman
Dakduk Castro (Syrien), Spiros Tsitsas, Michalis Traikapis und Dimitris Fliouras
(Griechenland) sitzen seitdem immer noch in Haft, sie haben 7 bis 25 Jahre
Gefängnis zu erwarten.

Wie der griechische “demokratische” Staat versucht, gerechtfertigte Proteste zu
kriminalisieren, zeigt der Fall Simon Chapmans: Von seiner Festnahme existieren
Fotoaufnahmen und ein Video, das vom griechischen Fernsehen ausgestrahlt wurde.
Darauf ist deutlich zu sehen, wie Chapman sein blauer Rucksack entwendet wurde,
und die Polizei ihm einen fremden schwarzen Rucksack unterschob. Auf diesem
Video ist auch zu sehen, wie dieser Rucksack zuvor von PolizistInnen mit
Molotov-Cocktails und anderen Gegenständen gefüllt wurde, die dann als
Beweismaterial für Chapmans “Kapitalverbrechen” diente.

Suleyman Dakduk Castro, ein politisch aktiver “illegaler” Immigrant aus Syrien,
der in den selbstorganisierten Arbeitskämpfen der MigrantInnen engagiert war,
sollte nach Syrien abgeschoben werden, wo er als politisch Verfolgter die
Todesstrafe zu befürchten hat, da er auf diversen Listen des dortigen Regimes
steht. Um sich gegen seine drohende Abschiebung zur Wehr zu setzten, trat er am
20. September in Hungerstreik. Chapman, Martin, Perez und Tsitsas schlossen sich
1 Woche später dem Hungerstreik an. Am 10. November traten Traikapis und
Fliouras, die in einem Jugendgefängnis einsitzen, in einen
Solidaritätshungerstreik mit den anderen fünf, deren Situation sich zunehmend
verschlechtert. Doch anstatt die fünf, die in dieser Zeit auch noch in
Durststreik getreten sind, in ein Krankenhaus zu überweisen, wurden sie am 11.
November in das Hochsicherheitsgefängnis nach Athen verlegt.

Wir (die VerfasserInnen (@#) dieser Zusammenfassung ) erklären uns solidarisch
mit den Gefangenen und wehren uns gegen die Kriminalisierung einer Politik, die
ihren gerechtfertigten Protest zum Ausdruck bringt! Wir wehren uns gegen die
Etablierung dessen in Europa, was in Lateinamerika als Straflosigkeit bezeichnet
wird und fordern entsprechende gesetzliche Massnahmen gegen eine
realitätsverfälschende und Tatsachen verkehrende " Beweis" -Führung seitens der
staatlichen Regierungsverantwortlichen innerhalb der EU - und wir erklären uns
gleichzeitig solidarisch mit den Opfern derselben Repressionsstrategie und den
politischen Gefangenen ÜBERALL

Wir fordern die sofortige Überweisung der Gefangenen in ein Krankenhaus, das die
medizinische Versorgung sicherstellt!
Wir fordern die Freilassung der 7 politischen Gefangenen von Thessaloniki!

Here is the public petition-alarm call written by the three doctors of the 5
hunger strikers of thessaloniki.....adressing as the only one responsible the
greek goverment.
But also proving how the goverment is ussing these days the dying 5... as a
bite, in order to agress and to force in extreme violence all the solidarity
movement at the up-comming (annual) demos of the national feest of
17November....and eventually arrest even more comrades... so athens is gonna be
secure for the summer ollympic games...and all americans as well

Any violent (either spontaneous or on-spontaneous) reaction to the challenges of
power and any idealization of the violence which could be used from the
life-guards for the facilitation of their plans, seems as an accomplice with the
death and it is turned straightly against the health, the life and the freedom
of the five hung

??? DOCTORS OF ??? FIVE HUNGER-STRIKERS ALERT FOR THE DEFENCE OF
HEALTH, LIFE AND THEIR FREEDOM

We, Kleanthis Grivas, Alexandra Efthimiadou Griva and Maria-Mirto Griva, doctors
of the five political detainees, Simon Chapman, Carlos Martin-Martinez, Fernando
Perrez-Gorraiz, Solaiman Dakdouk and Spyros Tsitsas, ADDRESS PUBLIC CALL in all
those that intend they take part in the events of 30th anniversary of revolt of
Technical university.

It is necessary that the following critical question can be answered by all
active citizens
"WHY DID THEY TRANFER 5 STRIKERS of HUNGER FROM THESSALONIKI TO ATHENS, A FEW
DAYS BEFORE THE 30th ANIVERSARY of TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY REVOLT":

1) According to the orders of minister of Justice F. Petsalnikos, towards the
administrative director of Papanjkolaou Hospital in Thessaloniki,
Thrasivoulos Ventouris (as it is also marked in relative papers of the patients).
2) While their familiar persons, their lawyers and their personal doctor knew
nothing
3) Following western type enterprise of five patients from the hospital in the
2.30 night 10th to 11 November 2003 (unprecedented action, according to the
nursing chronicles of country, that is sure that could expose them to the Greek
and international common sence).

The "ARGUMENTS" the cooperating repressive and administrative mechanisms,
according to which the transport became for reasons of "better
hospitalisation" and "safety" are obviously false and fools, because they
presuppose:

1) That in a city, as modern as Thessaloniki can be, they could not be kept in
"conditions of safety" 5 young men that are between life and death, due to the
hunger-strike which lasts 39-56 days (individually).

2) That in the completely manned and equipped hospitals and the academic clinics
of Thessaloniki, satisfactory hospitalisation could not be provided to five
patients (!) and this could exist in the Hospital of Koridalos Prisons that
exists only in the papers and as building structure (as it is proved by the fact
that all the serious incidents are transfered immediately to the State Hospital
of Nikaea).

CONSEQUENTLY, there's no other explanation left, that the autonomous parallel
departments of repressive mechanisms (that are
organised, checked and guided by the American factor) with the transport of 5
hunger-strikers to Athens CREATED a "point of
peak" based on which they will attempt to cause extensive violent actions in the
centre of city (by exploiting the Fair INDIGNATION of common opinion for the
revealed brutal violation of each significance of right, humanism and culture in
the case of 5 hunger-strikers ), in
the frame of a strategy that aims at:

1) the DISORIENTATION of common opinion from a sociopolitical economic
situation, unfavourable for the administrators of power.
2) the WEAKENING of SUPPORT of common opinion in the five hunger-strikers .
3) In the A POSTERIORI COMPURGATION of SAVAGERY by the repressive mechanisms
(that are in place of defendant and apologizer).
And, mainly,
4) FINALLY, CANCELLATION of the TEMPORARY RELEASE of the five hunger strikers
(that seems forecoming). It is obvious that, if somebodies are an accessory in
the drawings of repressive mechanisms in the creation of episodes, NO JURIDICIAL
BEGINNING is not to pronounce positively in the demand for temporary release of
the detainees.
As doctors of five hunger-strikers , interested mainly for their life, the
health and their freedom, WE MAKE PUBLIC CALL to everyone not to comply with any
challengers trying to promote the plans of the autonomous parallel departments
of the repressive mechanisms and their dark instructors, harming the five hunger
strikers that are in the verge of life and death.

Any violent (either spontaneous or on-spontaneous) reaction to the challenges of
power and any idealization of the violence which could be used from the
life-guards for the facilitation of their plans, seems as an accomplice with the
death and it is turned straightly against the health, the life and the freedom
of the five hunger-strikers.

Declare the following facts:

A) They have the medical supervision of the five hunger strikers from the first
day of their strike (54 days ago for today) and they look after them through all
the phases of their ordeal, in the Prison of Diavata were they are kept (as
proved by their recording in the respective health files of the prison of
Diavata), as well as in hospitals, where they were transported successively
because of the worsening of their health (from 03/11/03 until 11/11/03, when
they were transferred in the Prisons of Korydalos,Athens).

B) The hunger strikers were arrested in 20 June 2003 (during the protests which
took place during the EU Summit in Thessaloniki), ever since they are in custody
(for 5 months) and started hunger strike having as their only demand their
temporary release (with or without restricting terms) until the day of their trial.

C) Up to date the hunger strikers have fulfilled the following days of complete
denial to receive food ( hunger strike):

1. Solaiman DAKDOUK, Syrian, born in 1969, 55 days
2. Carlos MARTIN- MARTINEZ, Spanish, born in 1978, 41 days
3. Fernando PERREZ- GORRAIZ, Spanish, born in 1981, 41 days
4. Simon CHAPMAN, British, born in 1973, 41 days
5. Spyros TSITSAS, Greek, born in 1980, 38 days

As written in the health records of the Prison of Diavata from the signatories
doctors, all the persons mentioned above after the first 10 days of hunger
strike, began to have typical symptoms of the prolonged lack of food:

GENERAL INSPECTION

- Body weight: Reduction (loss)
- Mobility: Weak
CIRCULATORY SYSTEM
- Blood pressure: Low
- Pulse: Weak
LIMBS
- Limbs: Very cold (upper and lower)
- Plantar reflex: Weak
URINARY SYSTEM
- Oliguria
- Urine: dark-colored and reduction
SKIN
- Dryness
- Atrophy
- Loss of elasticity
- Anemic appearance
DIGESTIVE SYSTEM
- Fur and dryness of the tongue
- Dryness of the gums
- Constipation
GENERAL PHENOMENA
- Feeling of bad general condition
- Loss of physical strength
- Diffused muscular aches
- Muscular weakness
- Dysfunctions in the co-ordination of movements
- Occasional tremor
EYES
- Paleness of palpebral conjuctiva
- Eyes: Penetrate and enlarged
- Direct reflex of pupil: Decreased
- Indirect reflex of pupil: Decreased
- Occasional dysfunction of vision

Besides the above symptoms which characterized ( in different extend for each
patient) all five persons, each of them had and personalized problems, mentioned
below:

1) Simon Chapman had serious clubbed-finger, which denotes respiratory
deficiency and hepatic (liver) tiredness (see the included relative picture).
2) Carlos Martin- Martinez had haemoptysis (spitting of blood), after his
transfer at St. Paul’s Hospital of Thessaloniki
3) Fernando Perrez- Goraiz had great difficulty in excretion of urine (dysuria)
and blue disease of lower limbs (cyanosis).
4) Solaiman Dakdouk had strong signs of impairment of the synergic moves of
upper and lower limbs, due to muscular resistance.
5) Spyros Tsitsas had diffused thoracic aches and swallowing difficulties

On 31/10/03 the signatories doctors wrote down in the Health Record of the above
patients (which is kept in the Prison of Diavata) their warnings about the
expected fast recrudescence of their health.

And this recrudescence of health did happen indeed 3 days later (3/11/2003), so
that the patients were transferred in different hospitals of Thessaloniki, in
the following order:

All five are “kidnapped” at 02:30 in the morning and transferred (500 Km
farfrom) at the Hospital of Korydalos Prison, Athens without the authorities
informing their families, their lawyers and their personal doctors

During their staying at the above hospitals (3-11-2003 until 11-11-2003), their
health became worse, as proved by the disorders of many laboratory values in
their blood and biochemical examinations, which took place in at the
hospitals.(All the examinations are included in our report file)

CONCLUSION

In our opinion, the continuation of hunger strike

1) Due to total denial of receiving food, includes most certainly the risk of
causing irreversible health damages (irreparable damage), because nutrition is
the most important biological need
2) Due to denial of receiving water, in addition, will result in certain death.

About the time period required for the above results to occur, we are referred
to the teacher of Forensic Medicine,dr Epivatianos, who denotes in his book
“Forensic Medicine and Toxicology” (pages 69- 70)

“In total undernourishment, one person can remain alive for a long period of
time and, usually, the death becomes from a different and relevant illness (
such as a general infection), because of the reduction of albumins, and mainly
of globulins.

In undernourishment, failure of satisfactory function of both exocrine and
endocrine glands takes place, due to their atrophy, and therefore appearance of
diabetes mellitus occurs, along with acidosis, hypothyreosis, sexual inability
and amenorrhea (disruption of menstrual cycle). Additionally various types of
vitamin deficiencies appear (Ben-Ben, Pelagra etc)

The time that death will take place due to undernourishment varies and depends
on the following factors:

a) The total lack of water or not.

- In total lack of water death occurs within 8 to 10 days

- In receiving only water, deaths occurs after 4 or more weeks

b) The environmental temperature: Low temperature contribute to the faster loss
of life, than in higher temperature

c) The age: adults are stronger than children and old people”

Having in mind that all five of the hunger- strikers have low levels of White
Blood Cells (denoting weak immune system), they are very liable in
inflammations, which can be fatal for their lives.

The prevention of these possibilities depends only on the Juridical Authorities,
which can take action in spirit of justice, magnanimity, breadth of views and,
above all, humanism.

As doctors we appeal to the Juridical Authorities for their interference and for
them to secure the life and health of the hunger strikers who are in custody.
